Sura Puttu

This dish is a delicacy in South India. It is made with shark fish and Indian spices.Very rarely we find this fish here and when I find it in the market, it definitely lands on our dinner table as sora puttu:) It is very simple to make and puttu can also be made with tuna that we get in cans. (Super easy and yummmm)











Ingredients:

 Sura meen (Shark) 1 pound
 Big Onion chopped 2
 Green Chili minced 4 or 5
 Garlic 3 pods minced
 Ginger 1/2 inch minced
 Curry Leaves two strips
 Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
 Salt to taste
 Oil

Procedure:

Steam cook the fish with ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp turmeric powder.
Cool , remove bones and skin and flake the fish.
Add chilli powder, turmeric and salt if necessary and mix well.
Add oil to a pan.
 Add garlic pieces, ginger, curry leaves and fry for a couple of minutes
 Add onion and green chili and fry until golden brown
 Now add the fish and mix well. Remove from heat and serve with fish curry!
