Navratna Korma

 The other day for our Bible study group, I found this recipe and tried it (of course with my little changes:))..... the korma turned out amazing! This recipe is def a keeper... Im sure you will like it too :) 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1  tomato
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh green beans
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 cup chopped potato
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • salt to taste
Procedure
  1. Grind onions, tomato, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garam masala, then stir in the ground mixture and cook until the oil separates. Stir in chilli powder, turmeric, coriander. Pour in water, and add carrots,beans, peas, and potatoes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer  until potatoes are tender.
  3. Stir coconut milk into the skillet with the vegetables . Bring to a boil, and continue cooking 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt to taste.
