Have you all started making sweets and savories for Christmas??

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

It's mind boggling how just couple of days back at this time I was making preparations for Thanksgiving. Travelling and enjoying every moment with my family. And now I am fully focused on Christmas. My house is decorated inside with red green and gold and beautiful lights. We're still working on decorating the outside and Ive got a list of things to do before Christmas. Im also getting ready for the 'palagaram exchange' (Cookie exchange) next week. I also have planned a wonderful time with our family - Sandiego here we come!

I am determined though, as the Christmas season rolls on, to remember what its all about - the birth of Jesus - and to not get caught up in all thefrenzy. If my palagaram doesnt turn out the best, oh well. If someone doesn't like what I am wearing, So what? That's their problem. And as far as gifting goes, I am going to give those who are in need and be there for those who are lonely and alone during this season. I pledge not to go crazy over materialism. This isn't important people!

Let's turn our eyes to the reason why we are doing all this in the first place. It's because Jesus was born and he died on the cross for us and he rose again. We should spend the season being thankful for him and for all that he has done for us.  Remember to ask "What Would Jesus Do?" during this season. Rejoice and enjoy the season in Him.

Well heres a yummy and simple recipe that you can enjoy with your family during this season!

Diamond Cuts


Ingredients:

All purpose flour (Maida) 2 cups
Baking powder a pinch
Salt a pinch
Eggs 3
Powdered Sugar as desired
Oil to fry

Procedure:
  • Beat the eggs well
  • Add the flour little by little and form a ball of non sticky dough .
  • Roll into lemoon size balls  and flatten them with a rolling pin into 1/4th inches thick discs .
  • Cut them into diamond shaped pieces.
  • Deep fry in oil and drain .
  • Serve dusted with icing sugar
